Jetman Yves Rossy flight over Swiss Alps Pic Video
Jetman Yves Rossy , jetman flight over Swiss Alps pictures photo video : He just finished solo flight over the Swiss Alps alongside two Albatross fighter jets. His custom-built jet suit weighs almost 55kg, has a wing span of 2m, and four engines which can exceed speeds of 200km/h. a month ago he flew through a leg of Grand Canyon West in Arizona.
The story began in 2006, the Swiss pilot Yves Rossy became the first and only man in the history of aviation to fly with a jet-propelled wing, and still is to this day.
Yves Rossy was born on August 27th, 1959 in Switzerland. After attending an airshow and admiring military jets when he was 13, he decided that was what he wanted to do. He succeeded in becoming a military pilot, was assigned on the Hawker Hunter, and later Mirage III. After his career in the Air Force, he has worked as a captain with Swiss International Air Lines on commercial flights on Boeing and Airbus airliners.
Yves has always dedicated all his free time to flight and experimented all its forms. His dream was however to try to fly in the most natural way possible, by removing the need for the complicated enclosure an aircraft is. He was therefore drawn to the world of free fall, and experimented by trial and error all ways that could allow him to stay longer in the air and control his trajectory, to turn a fall into a flight: sky surf, wingsuit. Still not satisfied, he developed his first real wing, made of a rigid harness and inflatable wing panels, that he was to strap to his back to exceed the performance of all other attempts at “falling forward” that existed at the time.
The next step was naturally to gain total freedom by making the whole wing rigid and adding engines. Yves chose to go with model jet turbines, at first 2 of them, which allowed him to just hold level flight in 2005, and then 4 to finally conquer the 3rd dimension in 2006 – not within an enclosed space with mechanical controls and instruments, but by truly flying like a bird for 10 minutes at a time, with nothing but his body and feelings, floating like if the wing was a natural part of his body, so much that he doesn’t even feel it in flight. This was finally the reward of 10 years of development and more than 15 prototypes. All he has is an altimeter for safety, and a tiny throttle control in his hand.

Since then, Yves Rossy has been training constantly in order to optimise his wing’s handling and performance. This endeavour was rewarded for the first time in May 2008 in front of the worldwide press with his first official flight over the Swiss Alps. In September 2008, 99 years after the first crossing of the English Channel by air, the man now known as JETMAN followed the path of Louis BlĂ©riot, achieving an amazing flight that was broadcast live to 165 countries and widely covered by the worldwide press. Yves Rossy became legendary – even if all this ground work is actually only just opening the way to a world of adventures and emotions, both for him and his fans! Since then, he has developed a whole new wing shape with much better stability and control, leading to the first formation flights and aerobatic demonstrations in 2010!

Homeschool Tips
Homeschool tips : For many of us Home school is still not an important option to be considered. People think that homeschool children must be backward and would never be able to function in society. But this is wrong, Even Home school has better chance for parents to provide their children with best education and life skill with best love.
Homeschooling is not an easy road paved with books, quiet mornings at home learning Latin, or a sheltered life free of societal pressures. In order to homeschool well experts have found some imperative rules that help keep this education choice working for us.
Love being with your kids. You will spend a good deal of time with your children, and if you find yourself thinking that 4-8 hours a day of adult conversations or interactions is what you need to be content – homeschooling is not for you.
Learn about your state’s laws and regulations. Many states have homeschooling groups that monitor legislative changes and can help answer questions. Some families choose to connect with the Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA), a national advocacy program for homeschoolers.
Follow the law. Nothing is more irritating to me than parents who know the law and don’t think it applies to them. Sure – it might be just one more form to fill out, but we consider it the least we can do when we look at the struggles that people fought just to make homeschooling legal in the United States. If you think the law in your state needs to change – do something about it. In my state our homeschool laws have become less restrictive and demanding, all due to the efforts of parents who have pushed for change within the confines of the law.
Be ready to say, -I don’t know- and learn along with your kids. It is better to admit that you don’t have all of the answers than to partially invest in their education. There are times when my kids, especially those in high school, ask a question I can’t fully answer with information – from science experiments to the random -Where and when was the first road built in our town?- But I do answer it by telling them what I know to be true, what I think might be the case, and what we can do to find the complete answers together.
Be prepared to hear the sounds your children make – all of the time. They will chatter, they will giggle, and they will just make noise. Homeschooling is not for those who cherish silence. I do own ear plugs for a reason, but those are usually on reserve for dire moments of deadlines looming.
Be proud of it. Children take our cues from us, and it is a great opportunity to teach others about homeschooling. There will be questions, but if you answer those with pride, especially in front of your children, you will teach your kids and those around you that homeschooling is a valid, productive choice for education.
Find a support group. You will need the support group, not because homeschooling is something to overcome, but because there is strength in numbers. we couldn’t find a support group when I started, so we formed my own by placing an ad in the paper – seriously. We went from 6 families at the first meeting to more than 180 in our area. We share field trips, gym time, art classes, park days, and moms’ night out.
Get your partner on board. Homeschooling can be challenging enough, but if your partner has his doubts it can make your efforts even more difficult. There will be days when you struggle and having a back-up person will be essential.
Plan financially. Homeschooling doesn’t have to cost a fortune, but by the mere fact that one or more parents are committing to directing a child’s education, there will be time invested in the educational process that won’t be able to be invested in a career. Parents of older kids can sometimes swing work and homeschooling, but often even a part-time job is difficult to maintain while effectively homeschooling. I do work part-time from home, and it has its own benefits and drawbacks.
Maintain a good relationship with your school. Unless you have a crystal ball that actually works, you can’t predict the future. As much as you might want to know that you will always homeschool, you can’t predict that reality. If you storm out of the principal’s office as you pull your 7th grader out of school to homeschool, that burned bridge might be hard to repair if your child ever wants to go back or if your life situation changes and it becomes a necessity. Maybe it will just be the fact that your child, like mine, wants to participate in school sports. Keep a good relationship so all of these options can be open without tension.
Don’t select a singular, expensive curriculum package your first year. Give yourself time to get to know your child’s learning styles and experiment with different pieces of curriculum. Find another mom who has the book you’re considering and see if you can borrow it for a couple of weeks to see if it is the right fit.
Be flexible. Your child’s learning styles, interests, abilities, and goals will evolve, and it is essential to adapt to those changes. If one science curriculum was a great fit with the first 2 children it doesn’t mean that your 3rd will react to it the same way.
Next in homeschool tips : Find a schedule that works for you. Some families choose to follow the public school calendar so that when neighborhood friends are off for vacation their kids can run through the yards with them. Some families have a less formal plan they follow all year, while some dedicate 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off as a rotating schedule year-round. We prefer to start in the fall, have 4 planned days of lessons or activities, and use Friday as our catch-up day. The kids might work on a project, we might take a field trip, or just use the time to be a family. Schedules can depend on specific state requirements, so always make sure you check with those first.
Give yourselves options. People inevitably ask, -How long do you plan to homeschool?- to which we have always said -As long as it works.- So far it has worked long enough for our oldest to start college. We never wanted our kids to look back and say, -I wish you would have let me try public school.- Parents also shouldn’t continue homeschooling if they aren’t enjoying the process, because their kids will pick up on it and the family unit will suffer.
Know why you are doing it. When you stay focused and you know why you are homeschooling, you keep your goals in sight. My goals are many: teach my children how to learn, show them the love of learning, allow them to be individuals who pursue their passions, help them overcome hurdles, and grow together as a family. Homeschooling is my path to reaching these individualized academic and life goals with my kids. What path are you travelling and how are you getting there? -homeschool tips-

X-47 series UFO Like Aircraft
X-47 series aircraft : Finally The US Navy’s project to build a tailless drone that can take off and land from ships at sea reached another succesfull step recently when the X-47B test aircraft retracted its landing gear and flew in cruise configuration for the first time. The successful test took place at Edwards Air Force Base in California on Sept. 30.
the Navy said this week. “Reaching this critical test point demonstrates the growing maturity of the air system, and its readiness to move to the next phase of flight testing,” said Janis Pamiljans, program manager for Northrop Grumman. The project team aims to complete takeoffs and landings from an aircraft carrier in 2013.
Northrop Grumman X-47BThe recent flight was part of an ongoing envelope expansion program for the first of two X-47B aircraft produced by Northrop Grumman for the Navy’s Unmanned Combat Air System Carrier Demonstration program. Envelope expansion flights are used to demonstrate aircraft performance under a variety of altitude, speed and fuel load conditions, according to Northrop Grumman’s news release. The vehicle first flew in February
Northrop Grumman X-47BThe development of a stealthy Uninhabited Combat Air Vehicle (UCAV), large enough to carry about two tons of ordnance – the same as a front-line fighter aircraft, is the next goal. Such a UCAV would then be capable of conducting high-risk missions, such as Suppression of Enemy Air Defences (SEAD), without risking the life of a pilot. A UCAV would also be one of the first systems to benefit from the development of the Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) which will have the explosive effect of a 2,000lb bomb and yet weigh only about 250lb. As the concept for a UCAV was developed another part of it called for the vehicles to be capable of being stored, minus their wings, in a purpose-built climate-controlled container which would be wired into the vehicle and monitor the various systems to ensure they remained healthy. The containers would then be stored in a hanger and then used as necessary – six such containers would be carried to a forward airfield in a C-17 or twelve in a C-5. Boeing X-45A
Northrop Grumman X-47B videoTwo UCAVs are currently under development in demonstration programmes. In 1999 Boeing were awarded a contract to build two small development UCAVs named the X-45A which first flew in May 2002. The X-45A has one working weapons bay, with the other bay filled with avionics. Instead of a traditional hydraulic system, with the exception of the nose wheel steering and hiking system, the X-45A was all electric. The single Honeywell F124-GA-100 eingine was fed through an unusual serpentine inlet and used a yaw thrust vectoring system. The X-45A could carry a payload of 1,500lbs, operate at 35,000ft and cruise at Mach 0.75.

Meanwhile Northrop Grumman was also building a small development UCAV for the US Navy – the X-47A. Although a similar size to the X-45A, the X-47A was a completely different shape, but had similar performance. The X-47A was designed from the outset to investigate whether UCAV’s were suitable for carrier operations and simulated typical carrier operations by landing near a predesignated touchdown point and utilized the Shipboard-Relative Global Positioning Satellite (SRGPS) system, the same as fitted to a F/A-18 Hornet, as its guidance system for a precision landing. The X-47A was powered by a single Pratt & Whitney JT15D-5C engine. Northrop Grumman X-47B
